West Pines United FC Boys Program

The West Pines United Futbol Club (WPU), offers a year-round competitive soccer environment for boys 8 – 19 years of age who are interested in taking their game to a higher level. The club’s main focus is on individual player development within the framework of team building. Player placement is largely determined at our annual try-outs with the competitive level of each team determined during pre-season training.

Comprised of Advanced, Competitive and Academy teams, WPU provides top-level training and coaching in all phases of the game. Teams compete in some of the Nation’s Premier Leagues according to their respective performance levels such as, the Super Y-League, the Southeast Region III Premier League and the local area’s premier boys program, the South Florida United Youth Soccer League (SFUYSA). Teams also vie for top honors in the State’s Championship Series – the Florida State Cup, Region Cup & President’s Cup.

West Pines’ teams are frequent competitors in major tournaments across the country such as the Dallas Cup, Disney Showcase, Jefferson Cup, Atlanta Cup, Raleigh Cups, Score at the Shore & the Tampa Bay Sun Bowl. Advanced teams also compete in U.S. Club Soccer’s State, Regional & National championship series. Florida’s lesser tiered tournaments also provide ample opportunities for all teams to compete each season as well.

Consisting of 7 – 9 year olds, our Academy teams play in the local SFUYSA league in the 6v6 small-sided format. When possible, they also compete in various 3v3 and 5v5 tournaments offered throughout the region. Our youngest Academy members (5 -7), are taught the game with the use of FUN activities in preparation for when they can advance to competitive play.

All players, 12 years old and above, are encouraged to attend the Olympic Development Programs (ODP), of both US Youth Soccer and Super Y-League. Numerous WPU players have been selected to State, Regional & U.S. National team pools through these programs. Players have also been selected to the National teams of their parents’ heritage, while others have realized their dreams of furthering their soccer careers at the both the college & professional level.

If you are serious about your future in soccer and would like to take your game to the next level, then being a member of the West Pines United Futbol Club is where you want to be.
